The function of the Real Estate Appraisers Board is to license Real Estate Appraisers and administer the licensing law examination to protect the public from unqualified practice and unprofessional conduct by appraisers. It is illegal in New Mexico to appraise real estate without a license issued by the board. The Board receives and investigates complaints filed by members of the public against real estate appraisers and holds disciplinary hearings when necessary.
