The Chihuahua Commission was established in 2003 to stimulate trade efforts with our southern neighbors. As the State’s liaison with Mexico, The Office of Mexican Affairs acts as the State’s head administrator for this bi-national organization. The Commission focuses on seven different areas that address issues of common interest between both states, including:
- Border Crossings and Infrastructure
- Education
- Economic Development &Trade
- Health
- Public Safety
- Tourism
- Water
During the course of the year there are frequent meetings to discuss cross-border issues and areas of interest to both states. These meetings culminate in a yearly commission meeting between the governors and their delegations.
