Gov. Lujan Grisham fills Bernalillo County post
SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday named James “Jim” Collie to fill the District 3 Bernalillo County Commission seat until the next election.
Collie, a retired Presbyterian minister, is a 26-year resident of Albuquerque and a member of the Bernalillo County Planning Commission. He previously served on the county Library Board.
The vacancy was created when the governor appointed Maggie Hart Stebbins as the state’s Natural Resources Trustee.
“Jim Collie has spent his life in service to people, and I know he’ll serve the people of District 3 with that same dedication,” Gov. Lujan Grisham said.
Collie said he will not be a candidate for the position in the next election — a request the governor made of all candidates in order to allow the voters of the district to choose their county representative for themselves.
