GOVEX Public Health Division Director

Description:
The mission of the New Mexico Department of Health Position is to ensure the health equity, we work with our partners to promote health and well-being and improve health outcomes for all people in New Mexico.
This position is responsible for the Direction of the Public Health Division within the Department of Health, which has a budget of about $200 million and a staff of about 800 people, including 5 regional managers and 5 bureau chiefs. The Division oversees 52 regional and local health offices.
The Director leads the development of public health systems to improve access to health services and programs, through leadership, coordination, and innovation within the Division, Department and among other agencies. In addition to 5 regions, the Division has 5 state-level bureaus of broad scope – the Family Health Bureau, the Chronic Disease Bureau, the Infectious Disease Bureau, the Health Systems Bureau, and the Program Support Bureau.
Applicants should hold a Master Degree in a related field and ten (8-10) years’ experience providing program direction for a Public Health or other Governmental Program. The position is a Governor-appointed exempt position.
