Governor Lujan Grisham announces new secretary of General Services Department
SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced today the appointment of Robert E. Doucette, Jr., as the secretary of New Mexico’s General Services Department (GSD). The GSD supports other state agencies with air and ground transportation, facilities management and operation, construction management, printing and graphics solutions, procurement contracting and other critical state government infrastructure functions.
“The General Services Department is the backbone of state government and Robert Doucette has the proven skills to lead with competence and integrity,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham. “Robert is a consistent, strategic leader with 20 years of experience in effectively managing local and state governments.”
“From a young age, my parents instilled in me that public service that helps address the needs in our communities is an upstanding profession,” said Secretary-Designate Doucette. “It is an honor to continue my career in public service under the Lujan Grisham administration.”
Doucette is currently the Director of New Mexico Workers Compensation Administration. He served as the Deputy County Manager in Sandoval County in 2021. He also previously served as the Deputy Superintendent for the Office of Insurance and as a Bernalillo County Deputy Commissioner. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership degree from Webster University in Albuquerque.
