Governor appoints new Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge
SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday announced the appointment of Jannette Mondragón to the Doña Ana County Magistrate Court. Mondragón’s appointment fills the seat left vacant when the Honorable Judge Rebecca Duffin was appointed as Third Judicial District Court Judge. Mondragón is a graduate of New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico School of Law. Most recently, Mondragón provided legal representation in child support matters on behalf of the State of New Mexico. Previously, she was a staff attorney for the Border Immigration Law and Justice Center and served as a senior trial attorney for the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. SANTA FE – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a statement regarding the Supreme Court hearing on mifepristone access on Tuesday. “Limiting access to medication that so many women depend on to terminate early-stage pregnancies and manage miscarriages would be a catastrophic development for reproductive health in this country. It would dramatically undermine the authority of the FDA and open the door to more extremist attacks on medications that help people live healthier more fulfilling lives. Governor appoints Diana Garcia to 2nd Judicial District Court
SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced the appointment of Diana Garcia to fill a vacant judicial seat at the Second Judicial District Court in Albuquerque. Garcia’s appointment will fill the vacancy created when Honorable Judge Benjamin Chavez retired in January. A 14th generation New Mexican, Garcia is a graduate of New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico School of Law. For the past 18 years, Garcia has served New Mexico at the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office. SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday announced two additional judicial appointments. Gov. Lujan Grisham selected Denise Thomas to fill the judicial vacancy at the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, and Timothy Rose for the vacant seat at the Tenth Judicial District Court in Tucumcari. The appointments follow the retirement of the Honorable Judge Sylvia LaMar and the Honorable Judge Albert J. Mitchell, Jr. Thomas’s legal career spans more than two decades. SANTA FE – Today, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the FY25 state budget and the Capital Outlay spending bill, finalizing a fiscally responsible spending plan that makes critical investments in New Mexico. The budget totals $10.21 billion in recurring spending, a 6.8% increase from the last fiscal year. The budget maintains reserves at 32.5% a near-historic high. New Mexico becomes fourth state to enact Clean Fuel Standards as governor signs legislation – Landmark legislation set to grow economy, reduce emissions
SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham today signed House Bill 41, Clean Transportation Fuel Standards, into law. New Mexico is the fourth state in the nation to enact the standards. HB41 allows producers and importers of low-carbon transportation fuels to generate clean fuel credits to sell to producers and importers of high-carbon transportation fuels.
