Environment Department signs consent order with DOE for LANL legacy waste clean-up
SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s administration and the U.S. Department of Energy have executed a Settlement Agreement to clean-up legacy radioactive wastes at Los Alamos National Laboratory, marking a historic moment in the fight to hold the federal government accountable for the toxic waste it left behind in the wake of nuclear weapons testing in New Mexico. Multi-agency human trafficking operation rescues 91 people – Governor vows continued crackdown on organized crime in NM
SANTA FE – Today, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, alongside key members of the Governor’s Organized Crime Commission (OCC) and law enforcement leadership, unveiled the results of "Operation Disruption," a coordinated effort to combat human trafficking and organized crime in southern New Mexico. The operation, which took place over 12 days in August, resulted in significant disruptions to criminal networks and the rescue of numerous victims. The governor is a convention delegate and a former New Mexico Secretary of Health. Democrats are expected to officially nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s 2024 presidential candidate in Chicago this week.
