RELEASE: Governor secures FEMA deadline extension for New Mexico residents

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has secured an extension for FEMA assistance, giving residents affected by the South Fork, Salt fires, and ongoing flooding in several counties, including the Mescalero Apache Tribe, until October 19, 2024, to apply for aid.   “We appreciate our federal partners’ work to help us support New Mexicans who were impacted,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham. “Even after the fires tore through these communities, they continue to be affected by the flooding, making it imperative that we give them more time to apply for the help they need to rebuild.”   This extension provides an additional 60 days for residents to apply for both FEMA Individual Assistance and Small Business loans from the Small Business...

Governor invites Texas healthcare professionals to New Mexico – “Free to Provide” campaign highlights reproductive health freedom

Governor Lujan Grisham announces results of unannounced aging and long-term care facility visits

SANTA FE – Today, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham shared the results of unannounced inspections of senior care facilities across New Mexico that found at least one violation in 88 percent of the facilities inspected. The inspections, which took place from May 17 to May 19, included 91 visits and highlighted several areas needing improvement to ensure the health, safety and dignity of senior residents. The findings are outlined in this summary report. Of the 91 facilities included in the report, just 11 of them rated a perfect score of 100 percent, while another 55 earned a 90 percent rating.
