Governor travels to Michigan for Disagree Better forum

SANTA FE ─ Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is in Ann Arbor, Michigan today to participate in a Disagree Better forum at the University of Michigan with Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox.
The forum is the first in a series of three Disagree Better forums that Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, will participate in September. She is scheduled to participate in a second forum with Gov. Cox on Sept. 24 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On Sept. 29, she will travel to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina for a forum at Duke University with Republican Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon.
Gov. Cox launched the Disagree Better campaign during his tenure as chairman of the National Governors Association in 2023-24. The initiative includes forums featuring politicians from opposing political parties sitting down for productive conversations about restoring civility to political discourse in America.

Michael Coleman, Lujan Grisham’s director of communications, is staffing the governor for today’s forum in Ann Arbor. The state of New Mexico will pay the cost of travel for the governor and Coleman.
Lt. Gov. Howie Morales will preside over State of New Mexico operations until Gov. Lujan Grisham returns to New Mexico on Tuesday.
