Updated New Mexico COVID-19 cases: Now at 9,105; four additional cases
Layouts BreadCrumbs BreadCrumbs SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Tuesday announced 47 additional positive tests for COVID-19. Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are: 12 new cases in Bernalillo County 1 new case in Cibola County 2 new cases in Doña Ana County 1 new case in Lea County 12 new cases in McKinley County 1 new case in Otero County 4 new cases in Sandoval County 9 new cases in San Juan County 3 new cases in Santa Fe County 2 new cases among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility The Department of Health on Tuesday also reported four additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19. Those cases are: A male in his 80s from Bernalillo County. The individual had underlying conditions and was a resident of the Robin House Assisted Living Center in Albuquerque. A male in his 30s from Cibola County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. A male in his 30s from McKinley County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. A female in her 70s from San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 404. Previously reported numbers included two cases that have been identified as duplicates (one in McKinley County, one among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility) and two cases that have been determined to be out-of-state residents (one in Chaves County, one in Quay County) – these have now been corrected. Three cases previously reported as being among individuals held by federal agencies at the Otero County Prison Facility have now been correctly identified as being among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the facility and one case previously reported as being among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the facility has now been correctly identified as being among individuals held by federal agencies. Including the above newly reported cases, New Mexico has now had a total of 9,105 positive tests for COVID-19: Bernalillo County: 1,612 Catron County: 2 Chaves County: 48 Cibola County: 169 Colfax County: 5 Curry County: 64 Doña Ana County: 589 Eddy County: 38 Grant County: 15 Guadalupe County: 20 Harding County: 1 Hidalgo County: 1 Lea County: 33 Lincoln County: 5 Los Alamos County: 6 Luna County: 12 McKinley County: 2,757 Otero County: 28 Quay County: 4 Rio Arriba County: 57 Roosevelt County: 45 Sandoval County: 604 San Juan County: 1,999 San Miguel County: 16 Santa Fe County: 158 Sierra County: 1 Socorro County: 55 Taos County: 31 Torrance County: 35 Union County: 5 Valencia County: 81 County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health currently reports the following numbers of COVID-19 cases among individuals held by federal agencies at the following facilities: Cibola County Correctional Center: 2 Otero County Prison Facility: 273 Otero County Processing Center: 92 Torrance County Detention Facility: 18 The Department of Health currently reports the following numbers of COVID-19 cases among individuals held by the New Mexico Corrections Department at the following facilities: Central New Mexico Correctional Facility in Valencia County: 1 Otero County Prison Facility: 222 Penitentiary of New Mexico in Santa Fe County: 1 As of today, there are 193 individuals hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19. This number may include individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 out of state but are currently hospitalized in New Mexico. This number does not include New Mexicans who tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been transferred to a hospital out of state. As of today, there are 3,699 COVID-19 cases designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
