Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday issued the following statement after the New Mexico Senate unanimously confirmed Alisha Tafoya Lucero as secretary of the New Mexico Corrections Department: “Secretary Tafoya Lucero has proven herself to be exactly the steady hand needed at our Corrections Department. She is a no-nonsense problem solver, and I have full confidence in her management and leadership abilities as she and the dedicated employees of that agency work toward improving the safety and quality of our correctional facilities and services.”
